Hundreds counter-protested when six
members of the conservative Westboro Baptist Church picketed Grand Blanc
High School on the day of homecoming. The church members claim that God
will punish "sinners" who don't adhere to traditional sexual roles.
Students at the school selected a transgender student as their
homecoming prince two years ago. The group was met by hundreds of
counter-protesters, one of whom offered "free hugs for all."
